7 Easy Ways to Update Your Kitchen

The kitchen is usually the busiest room in the house. Every morning kids wolf down bowls of cereal and parents bustle through for coffee. After school or work, everyone congregates in the kitchen for snacks, or to help prepare dinner. As a hub of everyday activity, it’s important to keep the kitchen lively and fresh. The following are easy ways you can keep your kitchen from becoming out-dated and boring.

Add table lamps – Table lamps provide soft lighting, inviting a warm atmosphere. Pick up some table lamps to put on a counter or a shelf to gently bathe the room in warm light, rather than have bright overhead lights on all the time.

New gadgets and inventions – People are rather genius when it comes to inventing the next must-have kitchen gadget. From coffee mugs with smart lids to juicers, new gadgets can add an extra level of comfort and convenience to your overall kitchen experience.

Painting cabinetry – A simple fresh coat of paint can totally reinvent a kitchen. Painting the insides of the cabinet with a contrasting color can be a striking way to refresh your kitchen. Painting cabinets can be tricky because they have many awkward corners and edges. By planning ahead and following these tips, you can be sure to have an easy experience refreshing your cabinets.

Previewing the 2012 NBA All-Star Game

Even with the shortened season, fans will still have a chance to enjoy their favorite players in the NBA All-Star game.  It is set for February 26, 2012 in Orlando, Florida at the Amway Center.  The center is the home of the Orlando Magic and this is the second time the city gets to host the All-Star game.  The first was 20 years ago when Magic Johnson came back to play after being diagnosed with AIDS and won the MVP trophy for the game.

This year, starting players were picked by fan votes with them having the choice of two guards, two forwards, and one center.  Reserve players were then picked by head coaches in their own conferences.  However, a coach could not pick his own player.  The reserves have two guards, two forwards, and one center, with two extra players in any positions.

Notable Players of the Eastern Conference

Several names are in the running for the season’s MVP award as expected.  Derrick Rose, Dwight Howard, and LeBron James are three of the top starters for the eastern conference.  They are joined by Dwyane Wade and Carmelo Anthony.  There are 3 first time selections on the reserves.

4 Ways to Win Back Lost Customers

Every business will lose some customers over a course of time. Some customers move, others no longer need the service, or their life situation changes. The problem arises when more customers leave because they are unhappy with some aspect of your business.

Should you care about losing customers? Yes! Loyal customers refer their friends to you and help your business grow. Is there any hope of getting them back? Again, the answer is, “Yes!” Here are some things you can do to get your customers back into the fold.

Find Out Why They Left

You will not know what to change to make your customers happy if you don’t know what you did wrong. You need to find out if it was the service, the price, or some other reason that caused them to leave. You need to know if they went somewhere else or just decided to do without your service or product. Let them know you want to make things right with them, but you need to know what went wrong.

5 Reasons to Ditch your iPad for an Android Tablet

5 Reasons to Ditch your iPad for an Android Tablet

Anyone who owns an Android tablet will recognize its convenience, simplicity, and best of all, affordability relative to the iPad. As the most popular mobile platform with over 200 million users in 2011, Android outperforms rival tablets in the following five ways.

1. Price and affordability

To put it concisely, the Android tablet is more affordable than the iPad. Android tablets undercut Apple’s prices by $200 or more. The latest Android tablet on the market, the Asus Eee Pad Transformer, gives you 32 GB of flash memory at a cost of $499. For the same amount of memory, you would pay at least $100 more for Apple’s iPad. Additionally, Android tablets are not limited to just one model. Because there are many models available, consumers have more choice. The Android tablet is available in four sizes, ranging from the smallest which is 5 inches, to the largest which is 10 inches.

2. Open source software

The tech behemoth Google maintains the Android software. Following their principles of open source technology, Android is available to download for free. Many of the Android tablet applications are also free.

Ways to Use the New Neon Trend in Your Home

According to interior design experts, you can expect to see bold colors decorating homes in 2012. From bright bursts of color to vivid rooms, you will see yellows, pinks, and greens in fluorescents taking over. If you are not a person who enjoys bold décor, how can you incorporate the new design and still stay true to your personality? Here are some tips on how to incorporate the new trend into your home without letting it take over.

Think of One Item

Instead of spreading color all over your room, look for one brightly colored accent piece. It can be a lamp shade or a throw over a couch or chair. It may be a bold painting in an otherwise muted room. Choosing one item to accent in a bold color will add a touch of brightness without being too overwhelming.

Look at Your Focal Point

The easiest place to dress up with a splash of color is the spot you want to draw people’s eyes to; it can be a fireplace, a window, a coffee table, or even a bookcase. You can even change the focal point in a room by adding a colorful object in an unexpected place. For instance, a lime green vase on a floating shelf in a dark corner would draw everyone’s attention.
