Quasar Brings True Multi-Windowed Multitasking to the iPad

While the iPad does many things that users love, they don’t have windowed apps to make it easy to multitask. Apple has always focused on full screen apps, which makes it difficult to switch from one app to another. Now iPad owners have that option if they have a jailbroken device.

For those who are not familiar with jailbreaking, it is a process where you change the iOS so that it can accept applications that are not from the App Store. This allows users to download apps from third-party providers that improve and enhance their device.

What is Quasar?

Quasar is an app developed by Pedro Franceschi that allows users to work with multiple apps, simultaneously. It lets you resize windows so you can see several at once, and they can all be running at the same time. You can also drag the windows around and place them where they are most convenient. This could be beneficial if you are using one window to accomplish something on another.

Another benefit of Quasar is that it improves iPhone apps on the iPad. Normally these apps do not take advantage of the iPad’s larger screen, but that is not a problem with Quasar. It is easy to switch between full-sized and reduced apps.

Most Memorable Albums of 2012…So Far

We’re not even halfway into the year, but there have been some memorable releases that have the possibility of becoming classics. Here are some popular choices:

Jack White – Blunderbuss

This album was released in April from the former White Stripes member and contains 13 tracks. Some critics say it is his most personal album, while others compare it to some of the best that the White Stripes have produced. White has updated his sound without being disloyal to the Stripes.

Leonard Cohen – Old Ideas

The 10 tracks on this album are melancholy, allusive, and thought provoking. Many of them could become classics with universal subjects like broken relationships and death. The 77 year-old rock and roll hall of famer has made only his 12th album since 1967, but many say it is his best in years.

How to Promote Your Product with No Advertising Budget

Businesses today have to remain competitive to be successful, but it can be expensive to pay for advertising. Small companies cannot afford to pay thousands of dollars to find marketing methods that work. There are some ways that you can promote your business or product without spending much money.

Create a Social Presence

Most people know how to establish their business with a Facebook page and a Twitter account. However, there are other ways to promote your business through social media. Visit industry association websites and post on forums. Making your presence known is the first step towards free advertising. Offer to write a blog or article that mentions your product along with other valuable information. Contact websites that are compatible with the product you offer, and ask to write an article or blog post in return for being able to mention your business.

Use Email

Create a targeted email list to send brochures or other advertisement material that introduces your product or service. You can also send regular emails to keep in constant contact with current customers and notify them of a promotion or special offer. However, don’t overdo it. Most experts advise limiting email notifications to once a month. Any more than that and you risk alienating your customer base.

Google Drive: Free Cloud Storage on Google

Google has finally joined the ranks of cloud storage servers by creating their own version - Google Drive. It has been anticipated for some time, but delays have held it back. It has finally been released and here are some of the things that users can expect to see with Google Drive.

Free Storage

Users get 5GB of storage for free. For most people, that will be plenty to store photos, documents, and files. They can keep all of their important information on Google Drive and even scan regular paperwork for backup.

For those who need more storage, prices are reasonable. At only $2.49 a month you can get 25GBs of storage, and prices increase with the plan. Your Gmail storage will also increase to the same amount if you choose to upgrade.

Powerful Search Capabilities

Google has created their Webapp to use OCR (Optical Character Recognition), which allows you to search for text in PDF and other files. This makes it easier to find what you need without searching through every document.
