4 Ways to Provide Excellent Customer Service

In a down economy, one of the best ways to ensure your success is to create loyalty with your customers. The way to do this is to provide better customer service than your competitors. Provide the best customer service you can, and you will have a successful business.

Don’t Assume

Find out what your customers want. Don’t assume you know what they need. Talk to potential customers and find out what their expectations are. What are they looking for in your type of business? You can start with a small product and ask questions of customers. You can take a survey, or send out emails to get opinions. You may think no one will respond, but customers will give their opinions if they believe they will be heard.

Train Your Employees

Regardless of whether you have two employees or two-hundred, they need to be trained on customer service. You may think they should know how to provide good customer service, but you need to train them to your expectations. You should have standards in place that everyone is expected to follow. These should be concrete and easy to track, so you know which areas are on target and which ones can be improved.

Home Building Surge Continues

The number of home building starts rose to an annual rate of 685,000 in the month of November. This number is up 9.3% from October, and 24.3% from the year before. The number of building permits also rose 5.7% from October and 20.7% from the year before, to 681,000 homes annually. This is a closely watched number because builders can obtain permits at any time of the year, regardless of weather. The number also tells a lot about the future of home building. These are just two of the key housing metrics that have seen a rise in numbers. The average rate for the 15-year and 30-year fixed rate mortgages hit record lows in December. The National Association of Home Builders also reported that there has been an increase in customer traffic.

The Baltimore Ravens and the New England Patriots

Sunday January 22 at 1:00PM MT on CBS

The Patriots and Ravens were seeded first and second respectively heading into the playoffs. After successfully defending their home fields agains the Broncos and Texans respectively, the Ravens and Patriots both seem to be peaking at just the right time. The Patriots posted 45 points against the Broncos top-tier defense last week and the Ravens looked solid on both sides of the ball--frustrating the Texans rookie quarterback, while Ravens running back Ray Rice ran up and down the field at will.

In a 2010 playoff game, the Ravens held off Tom Brady and the Patriots to win 33-14, so both teams will be ready to play again in the playoff spotlight. The Ravens have a solid advantage at defense, with future hall-of-famers Ray Lewis and Ed Reed leading the way. The Patriots are on fire
